Aveiro

Aveiro is located in the center region of the country, in the littoral lane, a fact that verifies very good geographic situations: It connects with most important communications lines (terrestrial and sea).

Aveiro council is, actually, in prosperous economical and industrial development. In the tourist plan it is rich in monumental tradition (churches and antique houses) and cultural (gastronomy, festivities, arts and crafts, etc…).

A town with beautiful people that glorifies they work with the dignity that characterizes them. About the origin and development of Aveiro, there are no clarifying facts. Thru the time “Ria de Aveiro”, suffered transformations conditioning the configuration of the town.

Aveiro changed various times from sirs to sirs, a fact that demonstrates that was important and pretended by many. Salt extraction, fishing and sea transportations have the same importance.

Tourism presents it as an important sector not only for it’s impulse of investment and employment, but also as an economic structure of the council.

His development is due to a big economical transformation, social and technological in the 20th century. That development is found very dependant on the level of the population, on the growth and distribution of leisure, on potentialities and resources, on environmental and patrimonial qualities.
